Private starfish

Private Starfish is working hard to build a solid foundation in order to excel in the future. Private Starfish knows how to blow bubbles and float, and is eager to learn!


Private Starfish will learn how to:

  • Simultaneously blowing bubbles
  • Comfortably put head under/bobbing
  • Exit pool, with assistance
  • Supported float
  • No running on deck
  • Who is the lifeguard?
  • Where is the bathroom?

COrporal clownfish

Corporal Clownfish is confident in the water but eager to learn more. Corporal Clownfish has mastered the basics and is ready to start bringing them all together!


Corporal Clownfish will learn how to:

  • Wear goggles
  • Jump into shallow water
  • Supported back kick
  • Forward arm movements (ice cream scoops)
  • Retrieve and throw objects
  • Roll over in water
  • Back float

sergeant sea turtle

Sergeant Sea Turtle is steady and consistent. Sergeant Sea Turtle has a strong foundation and is an expert on foundation skills. It's time to get even more confident in the water!


Sergeant Sea Turtle will learn how to:

  • Forward motion kick with flotation device (kickboard or barbell)
  • Combine arm and leg motion on front
  • Combine arm and leg motion on back
  • Breathe to the side in front crawl
  • Sitting dive
  • Put on a swim cap
  • Push off the bottom in a forward motion

lieutenant octopus

Lieutenant Octopus is versatile and coordinated. Lieutenant Octopus is ready to start learning more complex skills. Let's learn those strokes!


Lieutenant Octopus will learn how to:

  • 15 or more yards front crawl
  • 15 or more yards backstroke
  • 25 or more yards kickboard kicking
  • Jump into deep water
  • Breaststroke kick
  • Butterfly kick
  • Streamline

captain dolphin

Captain Dolphin is steady and powerful. Captain Dolphin knows all four strokes and performs each with great techniques and grace. It's time to start to polish!


Captain Dolphin will learn how to:

  • 50 yards front crawl
  • 50 yards backstroke
  • 15 yards breaststroke
  • 10 yards butterfly arms and leg motion
  • Standing dive
  • Flip in middle of pool
  • Squat jump in pool (mimicking pushing off wall)

major swordfish

Major Swordfish is swift and efficient. Major Swordfish is confident with all four strokes and is working on speed. Let's pick up the pace!


Major Swordfish will learn how to:

  • 100 yards freestyle
  • 100 yards backstroke
  • 50 yards breaststroke
  • 25 yards butterfly
  • Competitive front dive
  • Backstroke start
  • 5 yards underwater streamline kick 

Colonel shark

Colonel Shark is a master at all water skills. Colonel Shark is dominating not just at survival swimming, but also is swimming competitively. Don't mess with Colonel Shark!


Colonel Shark will learn how to:

  • Flipturn
  • 50 yards butterfly
  • IM transitions
  • Exit the pool with just body strength
  • Tread water 30 seconds-1 minute
  • 50 yards sidestroke
  • Streamline kick, flutter kick and fly kick

General orka

General Orka is the strongest of all water creatures. General Orka is powerful, adaptable, and loves competition and being part of a team. General Orka is ready to lead any swim team to greatness, or even start teaching little starfish how to earn their rank! 


Congratulations, General Orka! You have made it to the highest level. Now that you know your strokes we are going to focus on your strength and endurance while giving you some technique modifications along the way.
